When working with Tristan, Braden was inspired by the freckles and character that make him so unique. The prop and wardrobe styling and color palette for this shoot were carefully chosen to elevate Tristan, to put him on par with the immortal quality of painting
MCDONALD’S
Oh, these beautiful kids of the McDonald’s campaign. The idea was to create strong portraits of these real McDonald’s workers who got their first job at McDonalds, still worked at McDonalds and were now doing wonderfully ambitious things with their lives. For these images the client wanted us to create portraits that weren’t smiley and beaming, but they wanted us to find “emotional depth”. I always thought that type of thing came easy to me as a photographer, but of course when you are chasing something it always seems more elusive than you thought.

"This advertising job I did with Ariat International is an excellent example of why I love this career. I was asked to lead the photo concept for Ariat's cooling technology. I turned it into a big science experiment with the help of stylist Pakayla Rea @pakaylaand. We had big freezers filled with massive sculpting ice. There were boots frozen in ice! Dry ice for smoke effects! We even had some liquid nitrogen to play with. It was one of those jobs where everyone had to have their game face on due to things melting fast or clothing getting wet…
